Watercolour behaves very differently on non-paper surfaces.like Yupo [synthetic] and Terra-Skin [stone] The paint lays on the ultra smooth surface and dries by evaporation rather than absorption. I paint with thicker applications of paint and pull out lights by lifting with tissue and rice papers. Wonderful textures are created with sponges and a variety of methods and techniques.
