I usually work 'wet on wet" on cotton cold press paper . After I have let the paper soak in a tub of water , I blot away the puddles and am left with a damp surface which will stay wet for an hour or more The pigments have a way of saturating and sinking into the surface which produces a look quite different than a work on dry paper. The effect is dream-like and soft with a contrast to the harder edges and details I add as the paper dries.
